Trending Now – Tables, Chests, and Cabinets
Choosing the right tables, chests, and cabinets are paramount to creating a well-designed space. Sofas and chairs often take the spotlight when planning a room. But, don’t forget about your functionally fun pieces! Here are a few noteworthy items from the recent High Point, North Carolina market.
Cocktail Tables
Just like recent upholstery trends, curved and sculpted furniture is very popular. The unique shapes add depth to the space and can be a fun conversation starter!
The curved acrylic base on this cocktail table is a great statement piece!
FUNctional Tables
My goal with console tables is versatility.
This table from Century Furniture was perfect for my client’s foyer niche. The smooth camel leather with nail head trim is classic and transitions through nearly any decor theme. A small bench fits perfectly underneath, making it functional for all of your entryway needs.
This console table from Noir is the definition of show-stopping statement piece. Three-dimensional and solid wood, this table works beautifully under my client’s wall mounted TV.
Never underestimate the impact of a well-designed end table. Light colored natural wood is trending and this tiered end table from Hooker Furniture ‘takes the cake’.
This Charles Stewart end table’s style nods to an earlier European age, but the curved pieces would work perfectly in a traditionally decorated space. It is also compact enough to be tucked into a small space, while still having enough surface area to hold a lamp.
Chest and Cabinets
This English style chest from Modern History combines old and new in the best way! The chest is freshened up with the fun muted blue color instead of traditional mahogany.
This Woodbridge media cabinet is made of Paldao veneer. The starburst grain pattern is stunning and versatile. Whether the space is contemporary or traditional, it will make a beautiful impact.
Since the 1920’s, natural light woods have been a continual design influence – particularly for the “California Style”. These light colored woods are enjoying a revival in recent trends! Lexington released their new “Montecito” collection for the High Point market.
Accents
Like the perfect piece of jewelry – sometimes that last accent piece is just what the room needs. Currey and Company’s rope etagere has a gold leaf finish and is perfect for a small space. I loved using it recently in a client’s powder room!
An underrated foyer accessory is the perfect umbrella stand. This one from Currey and Company beautifully replicates centuries-old Japanese paintings. Black and gold accessories always have an effortless elegance to them!
That is all for my favorite ways to incorporate trending furniture pieces in your well-designed spaces, stay tuned for trending area rugs and runners!
